We are excited for the start of the new school year and are equally excited to have Smart Families at St. Mary's Elementary School this year. We know the negative impacts smartphones and social media have on the wellbeing of our students and family life. Let's work together to establish new norms in our community that align with our beliefs. As part of this partnership, I would like to invite every family in our school community to adopt these four shared norms that support student well-being and healthy development: 1. Prioritize your family and your values 2. Delay smartphones until high school 3. Delay social media until at least age 16 4. Phone-free school day Smart Families will be hosting a number of educational events for families and the children in our community during the school year. 📢 Mandatory Back-to-School Parent Meeting is Thursday, 8/14 at 6pm in the SMC Fieldhouse. At least one parent per family must attend; attendance will be recorded. No students or children should attend this meeting.

From 7–8pm, JHHS students and parents may visit the school for locker setup and to meet teachers.
