📢 It's National School Counselors Week! 💙
At St. Mary's Colgan Catholic Schools, we’re celebrating the incredible mental health professionals who support our students and families every day!
🌟 Ms. Byanka – School Social Worker (PreK-6)
🌟 Ms. Tosha – Mental Health Professional (PreK-6)
🌟 Mrs. Krusich – Educational and Mental Health Professional (7-12)
While they have different certifications and training, they share the same goal: helping students navigate school, mental health, and life’s challenges. From emotional support to connecting families with resources, they are here to make a difference!
Let’s take a moment to show our appreciation for their dedication and hard work. If you see them this week, be sure to say THANK YOU! 💙💛

We are delighted to announce that Mrs. Kate Strader will be joining the faculty at St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year! Please join us in warmly welcoming her to our school community.
Introducing Mrs. Strader...My name is Kate Strader. I grew up in a small town called Mound City Kansas where I received my education from Pre-K to 12th grade. My hometown parish is Sacred Heart Catholic Church located in Mound City KS. My husband and I, Mason Strader, married this past July at Our Lady of Lourdes and look forward to being a part of this church family. I am currently student teaching here at St. Mary’s Colgan and anticipate receiving my degree in Elementary Education this coming May. I am also finishing my final year as a track and field athlete at Pittsburg State University. I am passionate about our beautiful Catholic faith and finding ways to reach all students in my teachings. I believe that this opportunity to teach at St. Mary’s Colgan allows me to live out these passions of mine and I am beyond excited to start this new journey!

02/04: Fans of the game! Thanks for cheering with us!

THANK YOU to all who supported our SME community service project this week! The staff and clients at the Vie Medical Clinic were amazed by your generosity!

As we wrap up Catholic Schools Week, we are reminded of what makes St. Mary's Colgan so special—We are SMC because we are Catholic in every aspect of our lives. In our faith, in our classrooms, in our gyms, in our hallways, and most importantly, in our hearts.
We are truly blessed to live our faith out loud every single day. And what better way to conclude this week than with a Eucharistic Procession, bringing Christ presence into our building and walking with Him.
May we continue to grow in faith, serve with love, and keep Christ at the center of all we do. Once a Panther, always a Panther! 💙🙏 Happy Catholic Schools Week. YOU are Colgan!

Panthers are 100 days smarter AND stronger!!

Today as we celebrate VOCATIONS during Catholic Schools Week, special guests spoke to all the classrooms at SME. Mrs. Ruthie Dellasega and Mrs. Kate Strader spoke about the vocation of marriage. Sr. Mary Ann, Fr. Jon, and Fr. Caleb spoke about religious life. A big take away from their talks encouraged our students to begin thinking and praying about the vocation God is calling them to!

Our JH students traveled to Topeka to participate in the March for Life in Kansas, joining others to show support for life. #LoveThemBoth

Three SMC students competed in District J-East FCCLA STAR Events today at Pittsburg State University. Eve Brown earned a 1st Place Silver Medal and is a state qualifier in Food Innovations, Level 3.
Annette Bradbury and Addison Coomes earned a 1st Place Silver Medal and are state qualifiers in National Programs in Action, Level 3.
