Last week, our Lenten challenge Wednesday was to write a letter to someone! First graders chose a special person and wrote them a heartfelt letter.
Look at these cute "Cats" in hats! Thing one and thing two writing piece was about whether or not they would tell their Mom they came while she was gone. 14 said yes, but 3 said no, they would not tell. (Follow up lesson- ALWAYS tell your parents!) Tomorrow's author is Christian writer, Max Lucado, plus more Seuss fun.

Congratulations to Meg Norman and Brooklyn Caskey who are winners of the Ninth Annual Joplin Globe Writing Contest.
Meg won first place in the 9th/10th division of short story writing, and Brooklyn won first place in the 11th/12th grade division of short story writing.
These girls competed against 76 other contestants, so we are very proud to have the two first place winners. They have earned a monetary award for first place, and their stories will be published in a special edition of the Joplin Globe.

In K we made crosses out of glue, cinnamon and apple sauce! These are to remind of God's great love for us and Jesus' love and sacrifice!!! Then we began celebrating Read Across America Week by sharing our favorite books and making red fish and blue fish! There will be more learning fun throughout the week! Huge thank you to PTO for help funding all the fun learning!!!
