The St. Mary's Colgan Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) Department was awarded a grant yesterday for $6,000.00 for kitchen appliances and a tower garden from the Pritchett Trust. These funds will help to install a functioning kitchen classroom in the high school so students no longer will have to walk to Guadalupe Hall for lab classes. Mrs. Holden shared sentiments at the BMO Bank Reception stating that, "the tagline for Family & Consumer Sciences is 'building healthy families' and the skills that students will gain through these courses will help build a foundation of life skills that will serve them well into their future. They are the future leaders and legacy-makers of our community and it is an honor and passion of mine to be able to empower the youth through the FACS courses."
